I have a fully working spare Crazy Climber PCB that has a flaw in that the
display is missing the light brown color. I am thinking that it might be a
RAM issue. The manual lists 3 RAM types:

MB81014
MB8114NL
D2115A

I can't seem to find any of these online from the usual places. Any ideas?

Here's what the screen looks like:

Thanks!

Or color PROM might be more likely. I think you'd see other glitches with a
bad RAM besides not displaying a single color.

Steve,

Start at the RGB outs on the edge connector and verify your getting
drive from each of them. Then follow them backwards into the circuitry
using your schematic.

PS. Your local.. when ya gonna let me come play your games ? =) fellow
collectors aren't exactly growing on trees around here ya know !

Thx for the reply. Any idea which are the color PROMS? I have 2 sets of
boards but don't want to just blindly start swapping chips.

Matt-

My games are all in storage until we get a bigger house - I am
tinkering with boards here and there on the bench with an old Amiga
1084 monitor and a JAMMA harness.

If anyone is interested in the CC board as it sits, email me. I'll
entertain offers on it since it's doubltful I'll get around to
tinkering with it anytime soon (my wife is 8 months pregnant, so "game
tinker time" is going to be extrememly limited/next to nil in the next
few weeks).

It will be a small 14 pin PROM of some sort. 82S129, 82S126, 5610, 5623,
82s123, 7052, guessing.

Upadte:

Swapped out the 6331 bi polar PROMS with a set from my 100% operational CC
board set and the missing "tan" color issue was still present. Back to the
drawing board on this one. :)
