Okay so I'm currently looking for a "gaming laptop". My budget is $1200 with tax and shipping. I'm going to mainly use it for gaming and school work. If possible I'd like it to be a 15" or 17" laptop and play games at high settings like BF3, APB Reloaded, and other latest games. And atleast a 500gb of HDD. I've stumbled upon Dell Inspiron 17R Special Edition, here are the specs:

Processor 3rd generation Intel® Core™ i7-3610QM processor (6M cache, up to 3.3GHz)
Operating System Windows® 7 Home Premium SP1, 64-Bit, English
Memory 8GB3 Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM at 1600MHz
Hard Drive 1TB 5400RPM SATA HDD + 32GB mSATA SSD w/ Intel® Smart Response
Optical Drive 8X Tray Load CD/DVD Burner (Dual Layer DVD+/-R Drive)
Video Card Nvidia GeForce GT 650M 2GB

cost is $1,077.99. Is it worth it?

Edit: I live in Canada.

I just purchased at MSI GT60 (15.6inch) for just under $1300 US on Amazon. MSI has a rebate that made that price possible. MSI makes a GE60 or GE70. Here are the specs for the GE70 and this model is in your price range.
MSI GE70_0ND-033US
Intel Core_i7_3610QM Processor 2.3GHz
8 GB SO-DIMM RAM
750GB 7200rpm Hard Drive
17.3-Inch Screen, NVIDIA GeForce GTX660M 2GB
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

Just saw that you are in Canada, I dont think you can get those prices. Anyway just an idea.

Hope it helps..
