Well ive been in EQ2 beta for a while now and ive noticed that anti-aliasing does not work, maybe AF as well but im not as sure about that. Its pretty obvious and it does bug me a bit but if you try and bring up the subject with the others in beta you get replys that are someting like "I dont care" or "I thought I had anti-aliasing turned on?".
Here is what i know, or what i think i know so far. It has to do with something called render targets which allows the game to run some effects like blurring over fire and other things like that. But to allows those effects the game has to disable anti-aliasing. This was the problem halo pc had as well as ff11 pc so im just assuming its the same thing. What confuses me is that i can also play games like Far Cry and Doom3 with similar effects and AA on. So whats going on here? =P
Now im posting here so one of you smart folk can give me a good in depth technical explination and tell me if im crazy or not. I have had nice AA for too many years now and i cant live without it =P
Sex is like a card game, if you dont have a good partner you had better have a good hand.
