Gainward GF4 Problem

I installed a Gainward GF Ultra/750-8X Xp (GeForce4 Ti4800Se). If I tried to run any games with 3D graphics, the screen has lines and dots that look like interference. I thought the card was faulty, and put back my GF2. The problems were still there... In Windows there is no problem with my old card, but the GF4 has small errors (small black dots, scrollbars leave a "track") What could be the problem? Surely the motherboard/agp-slot can't be busted??? And yes, I had new drivers, directx 9 (also tried 8), new bios.

or maybe a "powerless" power supply.

The problem sorted it self out. The GF4 was faulty (no suprise, two of my mates have the same card; both had problems with it.) The new card I got works fine. Still can't figure out why my old Geforce2 was acting up after I re-installed it???

your old card was acting up due to the new drivers most likely, i tried the new detonator drivers on my old gf2 400 and had the same lines and dots, used the program to remove the new drivers, re-installed the older drivers for the gf2 and it worked fine again. seems like the new drivers dont properly support the older cards, probably nvidia did that on purpose to make you upgrade cards...
