Hi Blake,

Yes, he is correct. The router will provide both systems with internet
access independent of each other, and allow them to "talk" to each other at
the same time if desired. Basically, the router will act as a DHCP server
and assign each pc its own IP, and translate this to the outside world.
Essentially you will create your own LAN (local area network).

As to the files and printers, you will need to setup sharing on each system,
