I have the above scanner with updated drivers and evertime i try to scan i
get the error message saying scanner locked,

But there is no lock

Please help?

Hello, Have you released the optical head locking device? Located on the
bottom of the unit. Installed to protect the device during shipping.

Hello, I have a different model, on the bottom left side rear has a
lock/unlock device. If your model does not have this feature then suggest
that removal "total" of the software and a reinstall. Also try the scanner
newsgroup may find others with the same problem. alt.comp.periphs.scanner

if you go to scansofts website you will see this is because their software is
not compatible with xp sp2 and there is no fix - their answer is to uninstall
sp2
