True. If that is a 2.0GHz P4 with 512MB PC133, forget upgrading cpu/ more Ram. Gonna need a DDR mobo or it will still be a slug.

im thinking that his system will not run as well as it should with a 6800. his parts are a little old for that card right now

It will allow him to run higher graphics. The only problem I can think of is the limited ammount of ram. But the 6800GT can be used later when he upgrades if he decides to keep AGP.

You have to be more clear when you post, because I'm not exactly sure what it is you're asking or what it is that you want. What games do you play? What settings do you choose? Are you  or :frown: with your system? If you just bought your nVidia card then why don't you at least install it first and see how you like it? If you are unhappy then come back and we'll make it better.

The amount of ram means almost nothing to his performance considering he has 512MB. More important is what mobo/chipset/speed ram does he have. Upgrading to 1GB of PC133 would be a total waste of money. IMO, So would a 6800 ultra/GT as has been recomended. IF he is running PC133, anything beyond a R9800 Pro at most would probably be too limited by system/cpu/mem bandwidth to see improvements. More ram won't hurt things by any means, but no way will a P4 on PC133 be able to play new games like D3 on the highest details anyway. IF it's a DDR board, then that's a different story, but do we know the mobo yet? If so I missed it.

I'm missing the reason for your post then. After all this, you have no intention of a new video card? What exactly did you hope to hear? ... "add some ram and you are good to go." We can't honestly say that being as the FX5700le is a weak card and if that is a SDR mobo, then the system is pretty week also. What is 1 GB of ram going to do for you in that case? Do you know if you are running SDR (PC133) or DDR (PC266) memory? My feeling is upgrade everything, the video card, or nothing at all for now. Don't take this wrong, just trying to help. You asked what you should upgrade and we are trying to tell you.
