Screen Saver Password Protect option problem

In windows xp when I enable "password protect" option for Screen
saver resume, it does not work.
Why?

To repair all system files, go to Start/Run, and type (or paste in): SFC /SCANNOW (see: Description of Windows XP and Windows Server
