My acer laptop wont shut down

my acer lap top wont shut down or log off, there is a padlock symbol lit up and wanderin if this is the problem

Could be the screen is locked from moving if it's a tablet laptop, there is a slider switch on the laptop that toggles that on and off. Not being able to shut off or log off can be caused by a program that will not shut down properly.
Just hold in the power button for a bit, it will shut off, see if happens again after you restart.
