network card

trying to install a network card on presario 4000 series computer for my roomate. card installs but has an error stating it needs a certain file but i can click skip file and finish the installation. device manager cannot sign the card due to conflicts with the mother board. im stuck please help

Why not find the file and have it handy on floppy when you try reinstalling?
