I was thinking about getting a compaq mp3 player. My d-link broke and is outta warranty. Has anyone had 1 or known someone that has?? How do they hold up?? I've heard they are quite good.

Compaq is evil. Almost as bad as Rambus (the company, not the RAM). I would never buy something from them except maybe a server. And even then only if I had no choice :)

Yeah, I know. But just because of the way the company is, I'd go for other brands first. And there are better servers around.

Hehehe. Good, but I don't want to bash P4s, since the Northwood might be better.

The prize is as-yet undetermined. Probably a HSF, IDE RAID card, something like that I've got lying around.
