I've realised that my FX5200 was not the best investment I could have made, so what is the best buy in the £100-150 range (no idea what that is in colonial mickey mouse dollars.
Is it possible to softmod an ATI 9800se to a 9800xt, or is that just crazy talk?

Thanks chums.

Buy a 9800 pro and overclock it. You should be able to achive xt area speeds.

Yes it's possible to mod an R9800SE, but not common.

It's very rare ones you can mod, as WUSY here did a while back, but it's not worth the risks involved, and you likely wouldn't save much compared to the now relatively cheap R9800Pros, at least if those don't OC, then you are stuck with a good R9800Pro, whereas being stuck with an SE is not a good thing.

Also beware of 128bit memory version of the R9800'pro' as they are just like an R9800SE in that they suck!
