Seriously, I used to love netscape, but NS6 is garbage, well it would be good if it worked, but it doesn't. NS4 hasn't improved since 4.08. What the hell are they thinking?
Just for fun, go check out pricewatch's new garbage site. It's bad in IE, but it's unreadable in Netscape. I think everyone has given up on them. Pricewatch obviously didn't even look at thier site in netscape.
I bring this up since it's really becoming a problem designing websites for thier stupid browser. It's old school and really needs to get it's act in gear or pull over... Sites are starting to forget about them. I suppose we could say that it's IE that is different from NS, but NS hasn't changed in years (NS6 doesn't work so it doesn't count).

agree - my current impression of Netscape is that it is slow and crap - other than that it is fine. I'm no great fan of MS, but at browsing IE beats it hands down.

Well, i´m sorry to say that Opera is going down the drain also!
The latests versions (5.10 or 5.11)are almost as bad as Netscape 6! Stick with Opera 5.02!
I´m just pumping up my patience to re-install everything and send all that crap to the bushes!
Why should you learn from your mistakes?
Learn from other´s! It´s cheaper and less painfull! :-D
I always used to use Netscape over IE, until netscape's soul was bought by devil that is AOL. It seems that's the exact point at which Netscape went downhill.

Yeah, they bought them out about 4 years ago for something like 150 million dollars. Slowly buy surely they are making icq into a cumbersome and unusable product (unless you tweak the hell out of it). I wonder who owns Real networks. Wouldn't surprise me if AOL owned them too...

I know, Pricewatch+Netscape has been bad for a long, long time, starting somewhere back in the NS4 days. I personally almost never use Netscape anymore. I tend to use Konqueror most of the time in Linux, and IE most of the time in Windows. Occasionally I'll use Mozilla, but Mozilla's startup time is just horrible.

Anybody ever wonder why AOL would own Netscape, but use some fuc|<ed version of IE in their own software? One would think if you owned a browser of your own that you would atleast use it over somebody elses one.

Yeah, tell me about it. I had to use Netzero for about two months while MSN tried to get their act together to help me fix it. I even reinstalled Windows twice, MSN's software about 20 times, etc.
I'm getting cable soon.
