i am putting together a secondar rig for gaming so far i've spent 10 bucks on it. it is a p3 866eb with 256mb pc133cas2 and a mobo with only one pci slot and nothing else. i have the proc at 140mhz fsb and 910mhz and all ineed is a good vid card. so what is the best pci grahics card? ive seen a fx 5200 pci and ati 900 pci. what is best?

You are right, I'd just add that the difference between the FX5200 and FX5600 PCI cards seems to be almost nothing, and I mean like they are almost identical in results. So don't pay a huge premium for the FX5600 it will add little/nothing to the equation.

The FX5200 says it supports DX9, but from experience, that's only for demos, not real gaming. For all intent and purposes the FX5200 is a DX8.1 card just like the R9000/9100/9200.

Both have very similar performance in older games, not many reviews for newer games.

Some of the best info IMO;

Ok, now off to dinner.
