I know they are both quad, and there is only a .4Ghz difference in processor speed so if I was building an HP is it worth the extra $50 for the A10? I've tried to help a lot of people with their decisions but when it comes to building my own PC it's like I need reassurance that I'm making the best decision with my own money =)

I've read that there is only roughly a 10% difference in processing power between the two, I am still undecided if I want to get the 7670m and deal with a maturing hybrid crossfire (HXF) or just going for the 7730m and not worry about if a game will work or not with HXF.

So with that said, which would you recommend?

A8-4500m with 7670m
A8-4500m with 7730m
A10-4600m with 7670m
A10-4600m with 7730m

I'm looking to spend as little as possible but still get moderate gaming.

Hey airanp,

I'd say the 7730m+A10 is your best bang for the buck. But you've probably already heard that from me...

The A10 is a fairly substantial upgrade, about 20% more CPU power in CPU intensive games (see notebookcheck.com for scores, particularly 3Dmark06 scores). So if you play anything CPU intensive, you will notice the difference.

Having said that, the A10 only scores about 2873 points in 3dMark06 CPU bench, so that's about as fast as a E8500 wolfdale. However, in games that benefit from CPU cache, the E8500 would come out on top (like Starcraft 2). For a good CPU performance link see:

It is probably good for non-CPU intensive games though. Then I'd...

It is probably good for non-CPU intensive games though. Then I'd still go with the 7730m, to avoid the hassles with Crossfire.
