I know...I go computer-nuts...my sis asked me to get a menu from Chinese and my first reaction:"huh?...ah...what? where? oh..ah where?...etc." I decided to upgrade my social skills - add more RAM and bigger hard drive..(and what am I saying...) IS THERE A WAY TO GET RID OF PC ADDICTION WITHOUT DOCTORS??? I need an advice, sometimes I wake up from a nightmare - having a dream that I have an old P1 with 16Mb RAm 2gigs hard drive and Voodoo Rush..oh...

floppy
Some type of motherboard.
The above computer blew up a while back when I tried replacing a 810mb hdd and a 4x cd drive which was in it. Someone told me that the BIOS being so old couldn't cope with the upgraded equipment and crashed as now it dosn't even post. The only way to get it to post is to reset the machine twice within a few seconds to restore BIOS defaults. And not even then will the bugger do anything.
So I'm saving up for this.
AMD duron 700 or 800 (to be oc'ed)
Asus A7V
128 MB 133 cas 2
Geforce 3
SB Live
7gig hdd (the one I have now)
40x cd (Ditto)
Plextor Cd-RW
Tower Case
300w Power supply
19" llyama Monitor
Black Widow Scanner
Some printer - havn't decided yet.
the sound card will be wired into my amp and speakers(rotel amp - mission speakers - These I used to use for gigs as I work as a part time DJ so they sound bloomin sweet).
Any improvements you can think of on the above or compatibility probs you know about please let me know.
If it ain't broke don't fix it
