When I opened My Computer, I realized that my cd D: and E: drive icons
were missing. I went to Add Hardware and searched for them. It showed
them with the yellow circle and "!", so I clicked next. This is the
reason why it doesn't work:

Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may
be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)

Can this be fixed?
Thanks

Go into device manager and righ-click on the affected drives, select
uninstall. Repeat this for all the drives, then re-boot the machine.
Hopefully, Windows will find the right drivers and correct the problem.
If not, you will need to dig out the original drivers disk, or download
new ones from the 'net. Might be worth running a CHKDSK to see if
there's any corruption on your HD.
