I just read the following review: NVIDIA GeForce 6600 GT: AGP Has Not Been Forgotten and on one of the pages is the quote: "Even with 4x FSAA and 8x anisotropic filtering, the GeForce 6600 GT is convincing. But at 1600x1200, the limits of its relatively paltry 128 MB memory become evident once again. " This quote indicates that perhaps the other cards had more memory than 128 MB. However, the amount of memory used on other cards is not listed anywhere. Can anyone help me? It appears that the 6800 Ultra comes solely w/ 256 MB of memory, but the Radeon 9800 Pro and the 6800 GT can have either 128 MB or 256 MB of memory.

Yeah you can find cheaper incarnations of the 6800 GT with 128. Maybe theres no point in giving the 6600 GT more because then you could simply afford to buy the next level card. Just a guess of the top of my head. They probably wanted to market the 6800 GT to two diffrent demographics, the 6600 GT probably picks up where the 128 mb 6800 GT leaves off.

They make 256mb version of the 5200 why would they not make it for the 6600?

I dont know I was just thinking out loud. It makes sense that a 6600 GT 256 would step on the toes of the 6800 Gt 128 mb.
