What's the major difference between the GF 6800 and 6800 LE? Is the LE a lot slower than the vanilla 6800? Which has the most value for money?(price/performance). I'm looking at the Leadtek Winfast A400 series

LE editions are underclocked. They have (w.r.t. Leadtek) 8 pixel pipelines (Pixels per Clock = 8) vs 12 of the 6800 (Pixels per Clock = 12).

I wouldnt recomment the LE edition, unless it *can* be OCed to a 6800 and its cheaper by a big diff from the 6800 non LE.

Most value for money is given by the 6800GT, but thats more expensive than the 2 you posted.

Is there anyway to flash the LE and open up additional pipe lines or is 8 the max?

Actually, i wanted to get the card too by leadtek, but hearing only one success story from one guy in a forum, i dumped the idea.

There's the chance you can through rivatuner, but it's luck of the draw. If you can settle for LE performance with the chance of unlocking it as a bonus, then by all means go for it. But you if want guaranteed 6800nu performance, then don't get the LE.
