Replacement Commando Joystick?

Posting for a friend with a 1995 Data East Commando...the joystick is
worn out and he's trying to locate a replacement. Can anyone point me
to a reasonable replacement? I checked Happ Controls and I see
numerous joysticks and I have no idea what specific item that I'm
looking for. I can't find any cross reference on their website and I
have no manual (or any working knowledge of vids). Any specific
recommendations from Happ or any other place would be appreciated.
