My computer was also displaying the “Found New Hardware Wizard” every
time I turned on the machine. However, I had not installed any
hardware (or software) in many months. Here’s what I have found out,
through the help of folks much smarter than I – at least this is what
worked for me. I found the SDDM12 device in the Device Manager. It was
designated with a yellow triangle signifying that it was not properly
installed. I had not tried to install any new hardware recently
anyway, so I knew it could not be something I needed. I simply
uninstalled it and that fixed my problem. I don’t know where this
thing came from, but others I have talked to suspect that it has
something to do with Dell (so far all computers I have heard of with
this problem are Dells). Perhaps it got there through an update from
Dell Support.
