Out of control App Crashes

A couple of days ago my laptop went a bit wacko on me. My desktop icons wouyldn't appear at all but luckily I managed to get that problem fixed.
But now, everytime I log into my laptop, pop ups keep appearing saying that my applications have stopped working. I click the link that says "Check online for a solution and restart the program" but nothing happens. And a few minutes later they start to appear again.
I've tried going into task manager, device manager, and restarting my laptop a number of times but nothing seems to work. I don't know what else to do to fix it.
I haven't downloaded anything that clould have contributed to the problem and I also don't have any viruses. I did a scan and nothing apppeared.
If it's any help I have Windows 7 Home Premium.


Do you have any idea how I could solve this problem?

Click Start>Run and type sfc /scannow in the Run command and enter.

Download, install and run CCleaner's Registry clean/repair.

System restore is also an option.

My mistake. Click Start>All programs>Accessories>Command prompt. In comand prompt type sfc /scannow and enter.

Easier yet. Open 'Run' and type in cmd and enter. Type sfc /scannow and enter.
