there is a special deal in going on my local shop, they are selling msi nx6800 vanilla card for a reduced price, its so that its onlu 10 euros more expensive then 6600gt agp models. i heard they are both on par, but i heard you can unlick the extra 4 pipes on 6800 vanilla and u have room for overclock as well as its silent with msi's copper solution. is this a good deal for 6800 vanilla? or you guys recommend something else?

I know nothing of your pricing, but can say that if it is a real GF6800 (plain, vanilla, non-ultra), clocked as it should be, it is faster than the 6600GT without question. Forget unlocking pipes, go by best bang for buck which means priced about the same the 6800>6600GT and is the better buy.

It's a wise choice given those prices. BUT, MAKE SURE you are getting a real GF6800 which is a 12-pixel pipeline card clocked around 325/700. There are a few companies selling GF6800le's which are only 8-pipe cards. Avoid it if it is a 6800 LE.

I'd agree with that. But as long as they definately have something added to it and it is always stated. We can avoid NV LE's and ATI SE's if it is listed, easier IMO than having to look for 64-128-256 bit memory buses. Crippled memory buses make it very important to buy from sites who list full descriptions or you'll end up getting screwed. EX: 128-bit 9800's and 9800 Pro's. If it doesn't specifically say, going by pictures alone can be a gamble as almost all sites have fine print that picture may vary from actual card shipped.
