Vanishing Fonts

Archived from groups: microsoft.public.windowsxp.help_and_support (More info?)

Started XP and the only display font was Marlett - not a happy choice as it
is just symbols. I managed to transfer the font folder from another computer
and for a while everything struggled back and I was able to continue working.
However, shutting down and restarting just sent me back to Marlett world.
I've tried system restore all to no avail.

Any thoughts?
