Ok looking to make a Multimedia PC to connector to a standard TV, which I can only use either composite or S-Video to hook up. Now would using the TV-Out from the graphics card be the best way? I know that the image can become blurry though unfortunatly from that. Is there another type of card I could use to make this problem go away so the image will be decently crisp, readable on a TV?
Also if I were to hook the PC through the DVI on the back of an HDTV would the picture then be crisp and clear like on a normal monitor? Wondering incase I decide to upgrade TV's, but please answer the question about the normal interlaced TV uptop. Thanks!
Using s-video was always clear for me, and using DVI to HDTV would be crisp and clear but you would have to use some funky resolutions and might not look correct? I'm not really sure about that.
The problem isn't really the card, it's the TV. TV's have a resolution of something like 280x512 (can't remember exactly) and half of those lines are nearly worthless due to interlacing.
So the problem becomes reading text on your screen. If you have it set at 800x600 you'll probably want your fonts to be around 16 minimum. Since 12 font is standard for, say, this forum (default settings), with 10 font for the Welcome message, you can see that using large fonts or custom fonts will be your best options.
