No upgrade are worth if for a P3 1GHz, maybe a GeForce 4 TI4200 or Radeon 9200, but noghing more is worth for this CPU.

You should not upgrade the GPU on that system! You should upgrade the COMPLETE SYSTEM. A P3 1GHz is outdated for gaming, s buying a GPU to play games is worthless!

You'd be better off buying a $300-500 Dell with a faster processor and integrated graphics. There isn't anything that could help your system.

Personally, I'd build a complete new system, not Dell.

What games are you playing?

You would even see a boost from a 9700 PRO on an older system like that... ***if you're playing older games on that older system.***

But if you plan to play HL2 or Doom3, forget it. Time for a new platform.

Not for me... its a friends' family PC, wasn't bought for gaming but gamewise looking to play sims/sims2/web browsing type of user... not a doom3/hl2 system... just something to get it a bit more up-to-date than year2000

Geforce4 Ti or MX, Radeon 9200, just don't pay too much, because that's a pretty slow computer.

I'd be surprised if a 1ghz cpu could handle sims2 well.

Probably time to upgrade the platform. Sims/Sims2/Web browsing will all benefit from a newer motherboard and CPU then they will from a new videocard.
