If we wish to roll out xp via a drive imaging program such as drive copy or
ghost, how can we change the licence keys on the images o/s to match the oem
licence key of the PC?

On the XP setup CD there is a cab file named Deploy.cab. Within it are several roll out tools, one of which is 'sysprep', allowing a
'mini-setup' during the first run of the image.

Sysprep needs to be run on the master before the image is taken. If you've
already done the imaging then you will run into activation problems. You
could reimage all the pc's or include instructions on changing the key when
deploying them.

Answered too quick. I forgot to add that if you have a volume license then
you'll probably be OK.

Changing the Product key is available in the 'activation' dialog, The 'phone in' options will offer a product key change, and then
you can cancel the phone in activation, then activate online.
