New Crytek Demo for ATI

Supposedly only works on X800cards (until someone like colourless hacks it I guess).

But there is video of the demo too for those of us who aren't 'worthy'.

I'd say the quality lies somewhere between HL2/D3 and UE3.

But UE3 isn't fully materialised and demoed yet, so not sure how close they are.

BTW, what's up with the guy zooming the satellite image in on the Dude. What a Poof, Get me Bikini Inspector-Vision!

well its just like far cry... gotta love that job by crytek, build far cry to run top knotch on nvidia cards, ati out performs nvidia in benchmarks on FC so they switch to ati and make 'the future of gaming'

Tried both. Some added features (cry has a few movie effects, ruby one has motion blur which I wont care in a game as when in motion gotta keep eye on the game though good effects in high speed stuff) in shading lighting etc, but HL2/Doom 3 looks better (in realistic terms - I mean the demos are slightlt cartoonish), becuase in gameplay nobody casts an eye on such detail. We need more world enhancements - ie details on noticible stuff.

Is NFSU2 a working example ? When you press nitro, you get all blurry surroundings.

Demo only plays movie over an over. How does your 9600 do with it? My TI4200 stinks with it. Time for 6800GTOC from BFG.

I still can't believe some people actually think hl2 looks better than doom3 or that doom3 actually looks better than far cry
