My old P1-133 had 128MB of RAM.
One day, it started only detecting 96MB.
Then one day it went down even more to just 64MB.
Annoyed, I decided I should do something about it. So I opened the case, and boy was it dusty inside. After using compressed air to blow the dust off of everything, it went back to detecting all 128MB.
So yes, dust can effect how well things work.
-THG isn't AMD biased. They just turn Intel mobo reviews into AMD vs. Intel debates for fun. Yeah.
I take my computers outside every 3 months or so and blow them out. It's amazing how much dust comes out of them. Far more than it appears should come out. Don't forget to blow out the PSU box. I get almost as much out of them as the rest of the case!
Same here,
It's even worse if you have cats and a wife with long hair. I don't know how but somehow her hair will get in the hsf along with the dust and at hair in the heatsink.
But it's amazing how much builds up.

The worst case is if you have the hantavirus in your area and although you think you get rid of all the contamination, your computer contains some infected dust. Then when you open up the computer you get sick and die.
That's probably the worst....

ROFL, that would most definitely be the worst, unless you had radioactive dust inside your case and DIDNT clean it out. youd die of radiation poisoning.
With enough dust , the computer might stop working!
I once had a computer that was so full of dust that it stopped working. I had to disassemble it and clean all the dust! When i finished , it was working ok!
Learn from other´s mistakes!
You won´t live to make them all by yourself! :-D
He is just using "Comp-u-condom" the world's #1 selling computer condom. For people who really love their computer, but don't want all the nasty computer viruses that could be lurking without their knowledge.
Man I just took that back off my 7 or so year old TV. I had been overheating. I swear I blew a 1/8 inch of dust off everything inside of that thing. Went through a whole can of air doing it. Now I need another one to clean out my comp, PSU making noise.
You can prick your finger, but don't finger your prick!
