if anyone has a board handy, can you tell me if there is one at that
position? and any ideas what type of rom it is?

thanks!

Yea but about half the people in this group know that 5a is supposed to be
empty, its a legitimate question,

Cut him some slack....

I am cutting him some slack.
look at the neg feedback he left when he wasnt even sure if theres
supposed to be a ROM at 5A.

Thats my auction.
Hes a dumbass and hes added to block bidder list.

Leaves feedback before I could respond to his email.
I would have sent another board, but screw him now.

It was listed as $9.99 with no reserve, he bid $52.
99.9% of the stuff i have sold was 100% working before i stored it.

I am not a DK expert and never claimed to be. So I dont know if there
was any missing parts because I have no idea what parts are on a dk jr.
I have 20 MORE DK jr boards and would have sent him another.
I just sold 2 DK 4 board sets [ebay] and paid a guy $20 each to test
them
and still only listed them for $9.99

He sent me an email and left neg feedback before I could even respond
to him.
I dont think I decieved him in any way.
Hes just a prick.

you want to sell them to someone who doesn't care if they work or not. let
me know. looking for the 2 board type in any condition for the right price.

Well fill us in on the whole story. Feedback hard to understand. He claims
the other side is broken or is all he worried about is Rom at 5A. Also your
response says you sold it for 9.99 when the auction is 52.00????? Let us
know so we can block him if need be......Thanks John

Because I didnt want to pay ebay for another photo on a $9.99 board

15 cents is it?

Yup 15¢ a pic. If you look at my other older auctions I only used one
pic on alot of them.
15¢ an auction can add up.

There was a version of the software that had a 5A chip, but the
most common version doesn't.

hmm...heres my take...based on experience...

I can list a brand new, working PCB...and test it and even take you a
pretty picture of the game playing on a JAMMA rig...however,

"If there are 2
pots and a cap, about an INCH long that are CLEARLY hanging off the
board"

This tells me that UPS/FEDEX tried to play football with it or catch.
or baseball, or maybe just poor handling. No amount of packing
material is going to help components that sit up off the board...
Unless I, as the shipper decide to enclose it in that Great Stuff
Exanding foam...which would REALLY harm the playability..

Bottom line if I got the board like this I wouldn't be a dick and leave
a neg, I would replace two $1.00 pots and the broken cap and call it a
day....and if i didn't want to deal with all that work, cause god knows
it is hard to solder and whatnot, I would dump my games near the side
of the road and collect saltshakers...

yerp, ok i agree. but the packaging was almost 0. I still think, based
on where the pots sit (below the height of the metal backing board)
they were probally well broken off the board, prior to posting... One
of them was dangling on the board, the other was no where to be found
in the box (which insinuates it was off to begin with).

normally i would go to the effort of fixing it and your right, i
wouldnt have been a total dick about it... if the seller bothered to
respond.. which he didnt... i gave him a week and 2 emails... so, the
only way i got a response was the neg... and after that, he was really
hostile (fair enuf)...

all i was after was him to respond to say he didnt know it was bust...
fine by me... but the guy chooses to ignore me... so fine...

i know no one in the forum would have done that, they also would not
have listed an untested board as "i know it was working once, its been
stored well, but cant say it works"... all other sellers in here are
honest and wouldnt try to screw people for the last buck on a toast
board.

so hence the "emotional reply" which, i'm starting to regret about
posting out in the public forum... so for all you guys who got
involved... sorry, i'll bite my tongue and take it offline.

so lessons learnt...
a) ask for high-res pictures...
b) as for packaging, not a box that barely fits the board with only 1
layer of bubble rap.
c) deal only with 100+ feedback sellers.

and again, sorry for the potty mouth, i'm dont normally get this wound
up, unless some arse decides to go public and tear me apart.

even if he didn't deserve the neg initially, the guy sure does now.

First thank you fellow RGVAC'ers for your input. I will change my
wording and definatly never give feedback out before I recieve mine
ever again.

Why nate is a lyin n00b and Im done with this thread after this post.

1. auction ends on Jun-08-05 17:37:47 PDT

2. item shipped on Jun-11-05 08:14
Priority mail takes 2-3 days.

3. Email recieved:

Subject: Question for eBay item #XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX - Nintendo Donkey
Kong JR PCB
Mate, i checked out the item today and took a good look at it. You
wrapped it well, so thanks! the problem is that 2 of the pots are
busted off and 1 cap has been ripped off the board. (i can take some
pics if you want). These are quite obvious mate and i think you should
have listed them in the auction :( if you did, i definatley would not
have bidded on the item. that being said, i'll leave it up to you if
you wish to help me out. I'm not going to complain to ebay or paypal,
so dont worry. i'll just leave it up to you. -nat
