I've been putting together the list of components for my new rig now for some time, figuring I would buy all of them at once from NewEgg. This weekend I went out there to pull the trigger and suddenly almost all of their 9800 Pro cards are out of stock (including the HIS Ice-Q I really had my eye on *sniff*). The only ones they have in are the all-in-wonder versions and I certainly don't need to pay extra money for that.

Are they all out because of the holiday season? I can probably wait another couple of weeks to place my order but if it will be late January before they get more cards in I will go crazy. Does anyone have an idea how long it takes them to get restocked this time of year?

Its just a stock issue at the moment since they are really cheap right now, no discontinuations. Just call Newegg on the backorder status and maybe they could put you on some list when they get their shippment of them.

Newegg isn't the only place to buy. Try looking on Pricewatch, for example. I'm sure you can find one for a decent price.

Anyway, if you were actually to spend $225 on a 9800 Pro, you might as well get the 6600GT AGP instead.
