I received my laptop yesterday. The laptop has XP Pro & I have a desktop with
2000 Pro. I am trying to save my files from my desktop to my laptop so that I
can install XP Pro on my desktop. Well I finally got it set up where I can
save my files from my laptop to my desktop. How do I set the computers up so
that I can save my files from my desktop to my laptop?

I am using a LinkSys Wireless-G Broadband Router Model #WRT54G

Thanks,
Blake

Mark,
I can see both computers from each other but when I click on the laptop
folder from my desktop I get "the network path was not found". When I click
on "workgroups" from my laptop, I get "Workgroup is not accessible. You might
not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator
of this server to find out if you have access permissions. The list of
servers for this workgroup is not currently available."

I am having trouble with F.A.S.T. I do not have a floppy drive on my laptop
and I did not get a CD with XP on it.

Thanks,
Blake

You might be seeing any one of several network setup problems, probably a 'permissions' error. This is a good site for a 2000/xp net
setup.
