So im fixing up these (2) IBM thinkpads r51 and i installed a fresh copy of XP. So i got the drivers on them and stuff but when i run the set up they dont work. Ive made sure i installed them to the right spots as well. The drivers im trrying to install are the wireless card driver, ethernet, pci modem, video control, video control vga and unknown device. Not sure what the unknown device is though

type 1830 and what are chipset drivers?
  3. the drivers for the chipset will enable the communication to certain parts of the computer like PCI slots, GPU, build in network cards, etc...

without the chipset drivers Windows might not be able to recognize other hardware.

I got help from someone and we got all the drivers working except the wireless and graphics card adapter (vga)
  5. use this software from Lenovo to install the missing drivers. It requires .NET 1.1 SP1 or .NET 2.0
