Well, after doing my research I came to the conclusion that the card I should buy is a Radeon 9800. No SE crap version... I want the 9800. No money for the pro version and I don't want 128bit, so where is it safe to buy the 256bit version for good price ?

Thanks!

u could try<A HREF="http://www.xtechnology.com//scr/xtcat.dll/item?item=ATI-R9800-128&pr=1&opt=4&frame=" target="_new"> here </A> or <A HREF="http://www.gameve.com/gve/store/productdetails.aspx?sku=VC-VT-002" target="_new"> here </A>. I have used both site for orders before and they both had quick service.

Xaser 3 case with 420W TT PSU
AXP2500 (11*200 at 1.85v)
9800 Pro 128MB (418/372)
NF7-S v2.0
PDP DDR400 1GB(2-3-2-5)2.6v
Lite-On SOHW-832S
WD 80GB 8mb buffer caviar edition.

Where are you from and what's your budget? In the US, Compusa has the <A HREF="http://www.compusa.com/adproducts/product_info.asp?product_code=302460&pfp=ADPRODUCTS" target="_new">BBA retail 9800 pro for $200</A>. Take the ad into Bestbuy or Circuitcity and get a 10% discount off the difference in price, which knocks another $5-10 off.

Thanks a lot for the replies guys. I have been reading a lot about graphic card and its makers lately. Sure as hell not buying powercolor again.

For those who asked, my budget is under 200 usd, but I was looking to spend less than 150. However, I don't think it's worth to sacrifice 50 usd though to get a 128bit or crappy SE version of the card and get shitty performance. I think I just might hurt my pocket a bit and get a good card so that I don't have to change it for a good time.

Right now I have a GF2 400MX and it's been hanging in there for a while... time to update so I can play newer games again. And yeah, time to experience AA and AF which rock :)

Thanks for the tip about Best Buy and Compusa to the last guy who replied. Thanks you all very much!

I found these two on pricewatch :

For $ 137 usd
http://www.gameve.com/gve/store/ProductDetails.aspx?sku=VC-SA-008

and for $ 139 usd
http://www.buyxg.com/store/item.asp?key=VC-124-109

ANyone ever bought from these places or know if it's safe to buy there ? It does not say anything about being 128 or 256bit memory. So I don't know. It would be best if I could spend less than 150 bucks, but I want to make sure I buy a good version of the card. I don't mind if it's not the PRO, because from the charts I seen the 9800 regular is pretty good too.

Thanks all!

Those prices scream 128-bit.

I have made a few purchases from Gameve without issues. Never had to test their RMA procedure though. But that card picturesd on their site looks like a 9500 pro/9700 pro/9800se.....It is a 128-bit card. The fact that they don't mention it, makes me doubt whether I'd want to buy from them in the future. Shady IMO.
