Hello i recently picked up a tired ice cold beer game. The cabnit is
beat up a bit but the rest is in good order. i disassembled the
playfeild mech cleaned all the old grease out and re greased it. I
also installed new belts.
The game still does not play or do much of anything.

When i power it up it will hit the ball return selonoid about 5 times
in a row, make no noise and at the same time (if the bar isn't all
redy) move the bar upper left to lower right. I tried to credit the
machine by hitting the switch, nothing happens. When i press the test
switch the speaker clicks and the selonoid starts hitting again. i
never get a display on the 8 digit display.

My power supply test out good and i re seatted my ics and cleaned my
board edge connectors.

If someone could help me solve my trouble or has a working pcb for sale
please help

It does this when it can't detect the ball.

Check your wiring and switch at the ball return location at the bottom where
the ball exits the chute.

Check the plastic ball tunnels behind the playfield. They tend to
crack which will trap the ball so it never get's put into play by the
solenoid.

It might be a good idea to replace the bridges on the power supply PCB
if you're getting spurious logic errors. They're available from Radio
Shack for a couple of bucks.

Thank you i just checked and i traced the wires back to the pcb and the
switch is working properly, and the ball is reasting on top of it.
the machine is not sweeping the bar or even moving it it is just
hitting the seloinoid. the only time i can get it to move the bar is
if i turn it off and move it to the middle, it will then put the bar
into the previously described location.
also having no display on it is worrying me.

I found replacement belts on Ebay... keep checking around.

I have the Ice Cold Beer Game as well... but the newer version by Innovative Concepts In Entertainment (ICE) ...and it works great.

However, I do not lose a ball....when it goes into the wrong hole.

I get 3 balls per quarter... and it will remain at 3 balls.

Only way I lose a ball is if I run out of time.

What setting do I need to change?

Does it do this only on 'easy' mode?

i.e. if I switch it to Difficult...will it charge me for a ball, when I drop it into the wrong hall (which is the way I'd like it.

Any help, programming advice...would be appreciated.
