PLEASE I NEED HARDWARE ADVICE:)

Here is my existing pc:

MOTHERBOARD: MSI K7N2 DELTA
PROCESSOR: AMD BARTON 2800+
GRAPHICS CARD: MSI GEFORCE 5200 WITH 128 MB
SOUNDCARD: NONE( USE THE BUILT IN ONE)
TV CARD: mercury(now this really sux)
SPEAKRS: CREATIVE INSPIRE 2.1

AS i use my computer for all my multimedia needs that is games, music, movies and tv ETC i am planning to upgrdade my pc.

For this reason i need some advice,
First of all i intend to buy ATI ALL-IN-WONDER 9800 PRO(about 200 dollars). Now the suggestion; i need is whether i should go for AN ati all in wonder or buy one of the nvidia graphics card and use tv card of some other company.

Secondly, I intend to buy Logitech Z-5500 speakers (about 225 dollars), because from the reviews they seem to be the best as i watch movies and listen to music very regularly. Has somebody got some better suggestion.

Thirdly, with speaker as good as the above mentioned, should i stay with my internal sound card oR buy some other one.

My total budget is around 500 dollars.

I would highly appreciate any advice.

It depends on how much you want to spend. TV-Tuner cards of the quality ATI uses for their AIW cost around $50. Better TV-Tuner cards with hardware compression cost over $100. And the 6600GT goes for around $200, which is a better card than the AIW. So for around $300 you'll get around 50% better hardware than for around $200. But the price is also around 50% greater.

I like the AIW 9800 pro if you can get it that cheap. Seperate TV Tuner cards have their pluses, as you can reuse them if the video card needs replacing. Crashes point is valid for sure, but I wouldn't sacrifice having a sound card just to afford the 6600GT and tv tuner card. if you can afford to do all, great.

IF you buy those speakers...yes get a sound card. SB Audigy 2 ZS would be my choice. If this isn't your main movie/music device, I'd skimp a little on the speakers. Even the $50 Logitech Z560's are not bad at all, if you can find them still. If it's your main music/movie device...go higher, but get a sound card for sure.

Thank you people......except ned flanders whose dad was a gay....but i won't go into details......

Crashman can you plese tell me what to you mean by hardware compression......please explain......plus having a tv card of one company and graphic card of another....doesn't it matter.....with in built tv cards such as ati, the manufacturer knows the gpu he is using.....which is not the case with using graphic card of one company and tv card of another company
