Ok i looked up what id cost to make a barebone system at tigerdirect and this is what i got:

59.99 biostar mobo, chieftech dragon case, and 500 watt powersupply.
80.00 AMD 2500 xp.
64.00 2x256 corsair value ram.
???76.00 ATI Radeon 9600 (normal)128 bit.??? and would it use the 256 megs if i got a different card
69.99 Hitachi 80 gig's 8.5 seek time, 8 megs buffer.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

The *best* graphics card?

That depends on your budget. The *best* would be a 6800 Ultra, I reckon... but how much can you afford?

lol, almost nothing more i think i could top out at 120 or maybe even 140.
