Were there any games released in that cabinet? AFAIK, the only games
that were made in that cabinet were never actually released....

I think Atari released a dedicated Wayne Gretzky's 3D hockey in the
same style cabinet. Of course the place I saw it was 5 minutes away
from Atari so it might have been a prototype cabinet on test. Wayne
Gretzky didn't do so well and most of the ones I've seen were in kit
form.

The only dedicated Gretzky hockey I saw was in the standard Midway 4 player
25" cabinet (identical to the ones used in NBA Jam on up through the Blitz
series). I'd be interested in seeing a pic of anything used in that B&B cab,
it's definitely cool looking.

If I remember correctly, that was a prototype cabinet. We were in the
process of designing a new type of universal cabinet that we sold to
distributors. The B&B cabinet was one of the first versions of it and
only a few pre production games went out locally for field test in
them. As for Gretzky, that was released as a kit only, no dedicated
cabinet - it did however go out for field test in at least one of the
B&B cabinets, just don't remember the location.

I had a feeling the Gretzky Hockey was a test unit since I saw it at
the Golfland in Milpitas, CA. The Atari headquarters were 5 minutes
away from this arcade.

We sent a lot of test games out to Golfland, it was close and had a lot
of traffic.

The reason that I ask is that at the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas,
there is an Area 51 that is in one of those cabinets. The coin door
has 4 coin slots. The cabinet is in decent condition as well.

I swear I saw a Gretzky at Dave in Busters in Atlanta many years ago that
was a dedicated with the screened art covering the entire cabinet side. I
recall it because it was a great looking cabinet and one of those games like
MK3 and Hangtime where you almost never see a dedicated.
