Hi

I'm using Windows XP Home edition version 5.1. The hard disc Maxtor 64120L0
size of 117232 MB is partitioned so that there is 20003 MB as disc C and
97229 MB as disc D. It seems that most of the programmes need to be installed
to C disc to operate. So I have a lot of empty room in disc D and not enought
in C. Specially proplems rise while my daughters favorite Simms 2 seems to
need more room to work in C disc. How can I give more room for C from D?

Thank you for your help

Esa

Esa

If a game is installed on D, it will still work.. when a game installation
process advises of the target drive and space available, it is often
possible to change the target to another drive.. any files that require
placement into C will be automatic.. this applies to other types of program
too..

It would be a cheaper option for you to re-install the game on D, than to
attempt to change the partition sizes.. you can then delete the game from
C..

Partition Magic can be used to change hard drive partition size. Buy it at a
software store.

You are not restricted to where a program can be installed - you usually
have a choice if Custom is selected during the install process.

Try taking a look at Partition Magic
(http://www.powerquest.com/partitionmagic/). I'm sure they have lots of
disclaimers -- it's probably not a real safe maneuver to change partitions
with data on the drive, but I'm sure it's doable.
