Modding RADEON to FIREGL

Hi! I would like to know if is possible to transforming an ALL IN WONDER 9800 card in a FireGL X2? Because the architecture is diferent in a 9800 pro and in an AIW.

I'm brazilian 3D enthusiast.....sorry for my very poor English.

Someone here ever did this mod with an All in Wonder? If the mod is possible, it will unable the All in Wonder features ( video capture, TV Tuner...)? There's a way to make the two drives (all in wonder and Fire GL) work together? Where to buy an AIW at good price in U.S.

I believe there are 2 ways to mod:

1- change the bridges on the GPU and BIOS flash to FireGL: in this case, all the AIW functionality would be lost

2- Use a SOFTMOD driver that would let you toggle to FireGL and back to 9800 PRO AIW in software

Of course, option 2 is the preferred method unless you're a hardcore professional app user and nothing else.

Are you planning on using the card for CAD work?

If not, do not even bother. The performance increase in games is almost undetectable. I have done this before with a system I used with Catia and Proe, and it helps significantly with those programs. Performance actually dropped in Direct3D games, however.
