I am looking at the ASUS A8N-SLI board....the question (or questions) I have is whether or not going with 2 GeForce 6600 GT 128mb (PCIe) cards to take adv of the nvidia SLI technology is actually better than just one GeForce 6800 GT 256mb card? (fyi....in this case, the 2 cards are cheaper than the one) A second thought, should I go with the PCIe or just go with a high end AGP. The processor I am looking at is the AMD 64 3500+.

Any thoughts and/or recommendations you might have are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Many people have the same question?????

The consensus so far is to get the 6800GT.

Some programs run alot faster on two cards, some don't.

So this way you get 6800 GT performance on all applications. Then when you need to upgrade, get another 6800 Gt.

I aint signing nothing!!!

It depends on how much performance you demand from your new system. If you are content with 1024x768 and negotiable AA, then go with the 6600GT, and later on buy another one and nearly double your performance. A single 6800GT will smoke any game out there, so it could be a long time before you feel there is a reason to buy a second one for an SLI configuration- such a long time, in fact, that you may be looking at a new generation video card...
