What would you recommend for a new vid card around $100? I mostly want it to play Doom 3. I can play it with my geforce 2 ti card but only getting like 10 fps. I decided not to finish it till I get a new card. I usually go with Nvidia cards. I'm not sure about going with 128mb or 256mb card? How much does that matter? Not sure which card would be my best bet also. Thanks.

You should be able to score a radeon 9600 PRO for about $110. It's your best bet new.

If you want performance on the cheap though, you can find used Radeon 9500 PROs on ebay for about $80. These are really amazing cards for that price, easily as good as a Radeon 9600XT.
