Rumor has it someone has a template outlining the shape of a Ms Pacman
cabinet. I have a Burgertime cabinet that I want to convert. I need
to trim the "Chef's Hat" from it. I need the template to be able to do
this. Any help?

OK....... Why not? BT was never one of the games I enjoyed. The only
reasons I have the cab are 1-it came cheap with a good monitor and 2-it
looks close enough for me to convert. I am not a purist.....my only
stipulation on my games is they run an original board set. Everything
else is either conversion (looks close to original) or reproduction
parts. Wanna make me an offer? The BT cab is totally stripped....no
art or electronics.

Cut that fat bastard up!! : )

I would think you might be able to trade it for a real ms pac cab in similar
condition....

Since this would obviously be a crime (to some people) does anyone have
a Ms Pac cab they would exchange for a BT?

Kentucky? This is probably the BT that was painted black and posted
somewhere for $90?
Yes, I have a cabinet to swap if you drive to Nashville, but the Ms Pac
is actually a Galaxian painted blue. I wouldn't make the drive, but if
you want to...

Nope....if I gotta spend money, I'm just gonna "Cut that fat bastard
up!!" as thrushguy so tactfully put it. And actually Galaxian and Ms
Pac are shaped differently......

NK. still hunting a template?
I could make you one, but if
I'm going to have to spend money,
You'll just have to
"Cut that fat bastard
up!!"

Your words, not mine...

I saw this at auction in St.Louis. The cabinet is in bad need of a full
restoration. I bid on it, and I would have restored it to a Burgertime. I
would also think the effort to cut down that cabinet would be much, much
harder than to just find a ms pac cabinet even if you are in Kentucky.

Galaxian and Pac Man are the same cabinet shape.

Galaga and Ms Pac Man are the same cabinet shape.

I think.

Galaga's were originally converted Bosconian cabinets, although a white
cabinet, still the same shape...... Regardless of the value of either
machine, cutting up a burgertime is a true crime..... If You really
need to make it into a Ms. Pacman, why not just do so witht the chef's
hat intact? I can not imagine that You would convert it then claim it
to be original, so why not just convert it and claim it is in a very
rare Burgertime cabinet, making it worth more? Some goof-off might
reveal the orginal art underneath, I would give that a try first. If it
cleans up, you can surely sell it for a profit, then use that money
towards a Ms. Pacman cabinet.... Just my thoughts...

Glad you have your template. Now go and cut the BT, and then when you
need something, be sure and ask. You said that your area is dead for
arcade stuff. Maybe you just don't know where to look.

Point is this. You asked for a template, and then asked for offers on
the cabinet. I offered a Galaxian and you got pissed for some reason. I
could care less and won't bother wasting a lot of time on this, but
just for kicks, you might want to take you tag number off of your web
site if you plan on telling people to "FO". Just a suggestion.

The "White Galaga's" are factory converted bosconians, but the cabinet is
not as deep as it had the monitor mounted horizontaly.

Check out this site toward the bottom for the "facts" on the white
Galaga's:

http://www.arcadeshop.com/galaga/galaga.htm

And a Bosconian cabinet is the same shape as a Galaxian and Pac Man,
not a Galaga. It's too narrow.

Also, let him do whatever he wants. I don't know how many times we see
people stripping cabinets just to sell the parts to make more money and
dumping the cabinets. Hell, Lloyd just dumped over 100 cabinets and
that wasn't a crime. He didn't say what they were, so who knows, may
of been 100 great condition Burgertimes.

And, I agree, why should he waste his gas if you want the trade, you
waste the gas. You would figure the same if the shoe was on the other
foot. I know that if I had something that someone wanted to trade for,
they would drive. Likewise, if someone had something that I wanted to
trade for, I would drive.

And just for the record, I love Burgertime. I have 2 working games and
one that needs a PCB, everything else works. The 2 are in the classic
cabinet and the other is in a converted Kaos cabinet. It's a classic
in my book.

Tim, your missing the point. I offered a trade. I could care less about
the cabinet. I don't want the trade and told him in the offer that I
would NOT drive to pick it up if I were him. Tried to get him a little
closer to where he wants to be with the cabinet. My point is, why the
FO?

I thought part of the fun in collecting and playing video arcade machines was the visual element; lighted marqee, side art, overlay and sound blasting in your face. If you want to put together a nice looking Ms. Pac Man then I would get the correct cabinet. If you just want to play the game, then buy a cheap machine thats already been converted . Their a dime a dozen. A restored Ms. Pac Man in all it's glory, now you have something!
