Only "TODAY" in history list

I am running windows xp proffesional, and when I go to the history the only
choice I have is the websites I have visited today. How do I get my list for
the week before

Click the down arrow (next to View), then select 'By Date'.

Tools... Internet Options...
(General Tab) near the bottom you will find
History..
select the number of days you want IE to keep track of the pages you have
visited.

When i try and choose by date it only gives me today as the choice I have the
days to keep history set to 7 days but it only lets me see todays pages
