does anyone know if the Rogers coverage between Montreal and Toronto is
mainly 850 or 900 MHz? (the quad-band handsets still seem a bit pricey at
the moment)

thanks

Rogers doesn't do 900, so you don't need a quad band.

Most of it is 1900, I can't say all, but my 1900 handset had coverage
every time I looked at it on my drive from Montreal to Toronto. TTYL

No North American mobile operator uses 900 Mhz save for Cuba. In
North America only 850 and 1900 Mhz are used for GSM services.

thanks for the clarification. My unlocked Ericsson T39 handset
(900/1800/1900) works great at my workplace with a Fido SIM, but couldn't
hold one bar of signal with a Rogers SIM. A colleague has great reception
at work with a Rogers SIM in a Motorola T720 (850/1900).

trying to figure out the best way to keep good reception at work, and take
advantage of coverage btwn Mtl and Tor.

Seems then I'd need an 850/1800/1900 handset (for use in Europe too)?
