I've owned several classic arcade games and pinball, now I have my
first JAMMA game. It is I believe, an old Dig Dug cabinet and currently
has X-Men installed, which functions fine. For real arcade people, I
think it would be considered junk, but I'm looking to tinker with it.
The cabinet is sound but re-painted red. Monitor looks good, it's old,
from 82.
Option A, restore it to Dig Dug. Pros-DigDug is a desirable game.
Cons-might not be worth the effort.
Option B, make current 2 player set-up into 4 player. Pros- that seems
to be what the JAMMMA board is designed for (at the top of the screen
it shows scores/power for 4 players) I have young kids who would
probably like to play with 4 people at once. Cons- don't know what's
involved in this conversion? I'm imagining I'd make a custom control
panel that will house four controllers and buy some controllers and
buttons?
Option C, I'd love to have a Big Buck Hunter, or Golden tee, but don't
want to pay 2K. Is it posible to convert this cabinet, I think it is
but I don't know what's envoved.
Option D, Buy a multi game JAMMA board for retro PAC-Man or Jungle
king. I don't know if they realy exist or what's envolved.
Option E, Find a JAMMA board for a game I'd like better than X-men. Any
suggestions?
Option F, Leave as is. Let kids play it till they are board with it.
