I haven't seen the 2001 Porsche but:
1998 Mustang 0-60= 5.4 1/4mile=14.0
1997 Porsche 911 0-60= 3.6 1/4mile= 11.9

I'll take the Porsche.

If could just own it, I'd take the 911, but if I had to build that kind of power on a budget, there'd be nothing like a 610 bhp 528 ci monstor hemi from mopar performance. That or build a small block chev with a blower. wouldn't cost much more than 5k for 600+ horsepower.

You ever hear about the 900 horsepower wedge18 beetle? Said to say that little jellybean looking pos would fly!

Screw overclocking my comps got NOS!!!!

Just checking, would this be a drag race or a road race? In a drag race they would both suffer from turbo lag, but i would give the race to the porsche. For the simple facts of lighter weight and awd. The porsche could launch easier while the mustang would suffer wheel spin at the line. This of course would be with stock drivetrains and wheels. In a road race, you can do anything to want to the mustang. Its still going to lose to the porsche.

I'm assuming this is all common knowledge.

Sh!t Happens.

How much HP is that Mustang of your putting out?
I know my moderately upgraded 98 TA at about 355HP will smoke any stock Mustang.
I’ve never raced a twin turbo though.

the only people who would take a mustang over a 2001 Porc. 911 is PWT.

Hey, some VW owners would be offended by that. Besides you can custom a New Beetle to have 5 second 0-60 times.

I've taken quite a few V-6 owners with my 4 banger '72 Super Beetle.

I meant stock though. I've seen bugs at the track who could tear it up too....

So your saying that a '98 Mustang came with 510hp stock??

Reply to funkdog

He's talking about a stock Beetle. Nobody said the Mustang was stock. I'm assuming the Porsche is, though.

I'd take the Porche and use it to buy one of your Mustangs and a nice truck! Actually I'll take a Corvette and twin turbo that, and buy a cheap truck!

I'd also take the Porsche, sell it, buy a sweet '60s Porsche 356B 'Vert, pay off some debt, and take a nice vacation while cruising in my vert.

I'll take the porshe, chop the top, put a sail on it, turn it into a boat, and sail off to some tropical island...

Just don't forget to waterproof it. I know far too many people who have tried to go sailing in a Porsche and sank because it wasn't waterproofed.

i would like on of the next years z06 with a nice 405 hp and 385 ft/lb of torque and then pop a a twein turbo on it and see what it does

alos there is this guy that will put to stage two turbos on a corvet and carbon barcks

i think it heard that it produced some where around 600 hp and 600 ft/lb of torque
