I have a 3.4g Dell. Can anyone tell me whether or not i have a USB2

I assume you do not mean its weight is 3.4 grams. ;) Is it the clock speed
of the main processor? Regardless, in general, one can say that pretty much
any name brand computer released in 2002 and beyond have at least some USB2
ports.

If you run windows xp service pack 1 or later, it will notify you if you
stick a high-speed USB2 device in a USB 1.1 connector, and let you know you
might not get optimal performance that way. Just pull the device out and try
again until you find a USB2 connector! :)

Yes, almost certainly. Check device manager for 'enhanced (USB) host
controllers'.
