That material is called laminate. Use a heat gun to heat up the
laminate and peel away / scrape off with a putty knife. Use the knife
as well to remove wvatever adhesive you can. Use laminate glue and
reapply new laminate. (make sure the laminate is over sized) Then trim
off the extra using a router fitted with a laminate trimming bit.
