GF5700 non-ultra: good?

I've read in the buyer's guide that an ultra is pretty good, but is its non-ultra counterpart decent?

Not really. Especially not for DirectX 9 apps. I guess it may also depend on the rest of your system. If you have a slow CPU, getting a top of the line video card will not yield all that great of results. The consensus on this board will be to get a Radeon 9600 Pro at the very least if you are looking at the old Geforce 5700 line.
